Wide range of abilities and instruments welcome
Roade Community Orchestra is based in the heart of rural South Northamptonshire comprising of keen amateur musicians from all over the county. We warmly welcome musicians of all ages, backgrounds and abilities to join the orchestra with some of our members learning to play, and others very able musicians keen to pass on their skills.
If you're considering joining an orchestra but don't fancy attending stressful auditions, don't worry, Roade Community Orchestra is open to all musicians. Whilst an audition is not required, please be aware that the music we play is grade 4 and above.
As some instruments are popular, please check with Ian Riley or Maggie Scott that there is a vacancy.
We enjoy playing a wide range of musical genres including classical, film themes, musicals, pop and rock arrangements, folk and jazz.
As well as having a great deal of fun playing as an ensemble, we enjoy taking part in local community events such as fêtes and perform annual Christmas and summer concerts.
The orchestra meets at:
Roade Primary School (Hartwell Road, Roade, NN7 2NT)
Tuesdays between 6:30pm and 8:15pm (School term time)
If you know of someone that may be interested please pass on our details.
As a community orchestra we endeavour to keep subscription charges to minimum, however there are some unavoidable costs which must be paid for: music, venue and the musical director’s time. Fees are £35 per school term.
